Grail Noble featured in the Financial Post again!
Grail Noble just published an article in the Financial Post reminding business owners to “keep their heads up”.
“Keep your head up” is something every kid, aspiring to be the next Wayne Gretzky, has heard a hockey coach belt out across the ice. Failure to do so can result in a thundering body check to the unsuspecting player. This is good advice. And not just in hockey.
Over the past 10 years as an entrepreneur, I have seen many businesses come and go. The ones that “go” seem to make the same mistake, one I have caught myself making many times. Their heads are down and they are focused on execution and administration rather than sales and goals.
When you first go out on your own, you are all departments: finance, the sales force, the office manager, the IT department and the person who delivers the product or service. You have to both hunt it and kill it. But you are only paid to kill it, so that’s where you focus.
